eSIM Tunisia

Yes. You can use an easySim Tunisia eSIM for mobile data instead of relying on your home SIM for data roaming in Tunisia.

Roaming charges vary by mobile provider and plan, so check your home network’s current Tunisia roaming terms before travelling. With easySim, you purchase a prepaid data plan for your trip and use the easySim eSIM as your Mobile Data line.

Your primary SIM can remain available for calls and texts on your usual number, subject to your home network’s roaming availability and charges. To help prevent unintended mobile data roaming charges from your home network, keep Data Roaming switched off on your primary SIM.

Both options can provide mobile data in Tunisia. The right choice depends on what you need during your trip.

A local Tunisian SIM may be suitable if you want a local phone number or services included with a local mobile plan.

An easySim travel eSIM can be purchased and installed before your trip, so there is no need to replace your physical SIM when you arrive. easySim Tunisia plans are data-only, while your primary SIM can remain available for calls and texts, subject to your home network’s roaming availability and charges.

Consider whether you need mobile data only or a local Tunisian phone number when choosing between the two options

easySim Tunisia plans run on Orange Tunisia, providing 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity across supported coverage areas. 5G is not currently available in Tunisia on easySim plans.

Coverage is available in Tunis, Hammamet, Sousse, Monastir, Sfax, Djerba, Bizerte and other major cities and coastal resorts. Coverage in remote desert areas such as the Sahara region near Douz and Tozeur may be more limited, as with all Tunisian mobile networks in these locations.

You can choose a plan based on your trip length and expected data usage. Current data allowances, validity periods and prices are shown in the plan selector above.

Two things to consider before purchasing:

Device compatibility. Your phone must support eSIM and must not be carrier-locked. If your device does not support eSIM, you will need to use another connectivity option, such as a physical SIM. Check your device is compatible before purchasing.

Data-only service. easySim Tunisia plans do not include a Tunisian phone number, voice calls or SMS. Your primary SIM can remain available for calls and texts on your home number, subject to your home network’s roaming availability and charges.

Apps such as WhatsApp, FaceTime and iMessage can use your easySim mobile data connection.

Yes — and we recommend it. Install your easySim eSIM at home using a stable Wi-Fi connection before departure. Your data allowance does not begin until the eSIM first connects to Orange in Tunisia.

Installing before travel means your eSIM is ready to connect when you arrive in Tunisia — whether arriving at Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport, Monastir Habib Bourguiba Airport or Tunis-Carthage International Airport.

On most dual-SIM compatible phones, your home SIM can remain available for calls and texts while easySim is selected for mobile data.

To avoid using your home network for mobile data, select easySim as your Mobile Data SIM and keep Data Roaming switched off on your primary SIM.

Check your home network’s Tunisia roaming terms before travelling, as charges for calls and SMS may still apply.

Work through these checks first:

1. Your easySim eSIM line is switched on.

2. Data Roaming is enabled for the easySim line.

3. easySim is selected as your Mobile Data SIM.

4. Your device supports eSIM and is not carrier-locked.

If still not connecting, the eSIM Not Working Guide covers the most common causes and fixes in detail.
