easySim Egypt plans connect to two networks: Orange Egypt and Vodafone Egypt. Both networks support 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G where available.

Coverage is available across Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh and the Red Sea coast, along with the Nile Valley corridor and major tourist routes. Coverage in remote desert areas may be limited.

Yes. Both Orange Egypt and Vodafone Egypt support 5G where available. Your device connects to the strongest available signal automatically — 5G, 4G or 3G — depending on your location and device capability.

No. easySim does not currently offer an unlimited Egypt eSIM. All Egypt plans currently provide a fixed data allowance for a set validity period.

You can choose a plan based on how much data you expect to use during your trip. The right allowance depends on your trip length and how you use mobile data. Activities such as maps and messaging generally use less data than video streaming or frequent hotspot use.

For international visitors, an Egypt eSIM removes two common travel inconveniences: unexpected roaming charges and finding a local SIM after a long flight.

Egypt may not be included in your home network's standard roaming allowance, so check your provider's roaming rates before travelling. A prepaid Egypt eSIM from £4.49 gives you a fixed data allowance for your trip.

You install the eSIM at home before departure, activate it when you land, and your existing SIM stays in your phone for calls and messages on your home number. No store visit required on arrival.

easySim Egypt plans run on Orange and Vodafone, covering major cities, tourist destinations and travel routes across the country.

Orange and Vodafone provide mobile coverage across many major Egyptian cities and tourist destinations, including Cairo, Alexandria, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh. Coverage and connection speeds can vary by location, network conditions and device. 

Coverage in very remote desert areas — including parts of the Western Desert and Eastern Desert — may be limited or unavailable. This applies to all mobile networks in these locations.

Three things worth knowing before purchasing:

Device compatibility. Your phone must support eSIM and must not be carrier-locked. If your device does not support eSIM, a local SIM purchased on arrival in Egypt is the alternative. Egyptian SIM cards are available at Cairo International Airport and in city centres.

Data-only service. easySim Egypt plans do not include a local Egyptian number or voice calls. Your primary SIM remains in your phone for calls and texts. If you need a local number, a local physical SIM with voice is the appropriate choice.

No unlimited option. The maximum available plan is 20GB over 30 days. If you need very large amounts of data daily, check whether this is sufficient before purchasing.

Yes. WhatsApp works fully over the easySim data connection in Egypt. Calls, messages, voice notes and media all use your data allowance. Your primary SIM stays in your phone for standard calls and texts on your home number throughout your trip.

Yes. Enable Data Roaming for the easySim eSIM line and set easySim as your Mobile Data SIM. This is how the eSIM connects to Orange or Vodafone in Egypt.

For your primary SIM, keep Data Roaming turned off to help avoid unintended mobile data roaming charges. Your primary SIM can remain available for calls and SMS, subject to your home network's roaming availability and charges. 

No. easySim Egypt plans are data-only and do not include voice calls or SMS. Your primary SIM remains active for calls and messages while the easySim eSIM provides your mobile data, allowing you to use WhatsApp, FaceTime, iMessage and similar services throughout your trip.

Yes. Hotspot and tethering are supported on easySim Egypt plans. You can share your mobile data connection with a laptop, tablet or another device. Data used through hotspot comes from your plan allowance, so tethering may use your allowance more quickly depending on what the connected device is doing. Yes. Installing the eSIM before your trip does not start your data allowance. Your bundle begins when the eSIM first connects to a supported network in Egypt. Install at home before you travel and your data is ready the moment you land at Cairo International Airport — no delays, no store queues.

On most dual-SIM compatible phones, your home SIM can remain available for calls and messages while easySim provides mobile data. You keep your usual home number for incoming calls and texts without paying international data roaming charges through your home network.

Check your home network's roaming terms for Egypt before travelling, as call and SMS charges from your home provider may still apply.
